Does Your Car Battery in Tyler Need a Jump Start?

When your car won't start, a jump could help. It is important to do the jump start safely because of the high voltage involved. Park the bad car nose-to-nose with a car with a good battery. Put the cars in park with emergency brakes engaged.

Connect the red or positive cable to both batteries. Connect the negative or black cable to the terminal of the good battery and any metal in the bad car's engine. Start the engine of the good car and rev it. Run the engine for about two minutes, then start the engine of the car with the dead battery.

Visit our service center at Tyler Ford to get a jump start. We can also test your car's battery to see if it is delivering the right cold-cranking amps and volts to the engine.
