2024 Ford Bronco Sport vs. the Competition

Compare the New Ford Bronco Sport to Other Small & Sporty SUVs
There's one compact SUV that allows Tyler explorers to get outdoors and forge their own path. The new Ford Bronco Sport excels in off-roading and taking the scenic route through East Texas and any trails. Other small SUVs like the GMC Terrain and Honda HR-V can't quite level up. Before shopping at Tyler Ford, see how the Ford Bronco Sport surges past the SUV competition.

Design
With 8.8 inches of ground clearance, the Ford Bronco Sport helps Tyler drivers clear obstacles with ease. The GMC Terrain has less than seven inches of ground clearance and less than eight inches for its off-road-based AT4 model. All-terrain tires are available for the Ford Bronco Sport, while the GMC Terrain offers sport terrain tires for the AT4.
At 30 to 63 cubic feet, GMC's SUV has less cargo space. With 33 to 65 cubic feet of cargo space, the new Ford Bronco Sport lets Lindale travelers bring along more adventure gear, and they have access to a MOLLE (modular lightweight load-carrying equipment) strap system. There's even a slide-out table for the rear cargo management system. Don't forget the Ford Bronco Sport's roof rack can take on up to 600 pounds, meaning everything can come along for the exploration. The GMC Terrain can't match those cargo carrying capabilities. The Ford Bronco Sport also offers more front-row legroom (42.4 inches), compared to the GMC Terrain (40.9 inches).
Capability
All Ford Bronco Sport models come with standard 4x4 capability for superior traction, and Badlands® models provide advanced 4x4. All-wheel drive is not standard for the GMC Terrain but is added to the AT4. The Terrain's off-road model can't match the all-terrain capability of the Ford Bronco Sport, which comes with a HOSS (High-Performance, Off-Road, Stability, Suspension System) and switchable G.O.A.T. Modes® (Goes Over Any Type of Terrain).
Regardless of the powertrain, the Bronco Sport is more powerful. The Terrain outputs 175 horsepower and 203 pound-feet of torque through a 1.5-liter turbocharged inline-4 engine. Ford's SUV gives Tyler customers the choice between a 1.5-liter EcoBoost® turbocharged inline-3 engine rated for 181 horsepower and 190 pound-feet of torque or a 2.0-liter EcoBoost® turbocharged inline-4 engine outputting 250 horsepower and 277 pound-feet of torque. GMC's smallest SUV can only tow 1,500 pounds, less than the Ford Bronco Sport, which helps Tyler drivers pull trailers between 2,000 and 2,200 pounds. Both SUVs earn 29 highway miles per gallon.

Tech
On any exploration, Tyler drivers always have a trail spotter, thanks to the Ford Bronco Sport's 180-degree camera featuring a split view. There's no comparable feature for the GMC Terrain, which comes with navigation. Both SUVs include an 8-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay®/Android Auto™ compatibility, but the Ford Bronco Sport gives Lindale explorers access to GPS touchscreen navigation with voice activation. GMC Pro Safety in the Terrain and Ford Co-Pilot360™ in the Bronco Sport each include Automatic Emergency Braking and similar safety features, but the Bronco Sport packages a Blind-Spot Information System with Cross-Traffic Alert, which is missing on the Terrain.

Design
The Ford Bronco Sport is a far more rugged SUV than the Honda HR-V, which only has seven inches of ground clearance and is missing true off-roading features and a roof rack. Bronco Sport SUVs have nearly two extra inches of ground clearance, come with a roof rack, and feature a liftgate window. With five fewer inches of headroom, an inch less of front-row legroom, and only 24 to 55 cubic feet of storage, the Honda HR-V offers less space than the Ford Bronco Sport, which accommodates long trips beyond Tyler by providing 42 inches of headroom, courtesy of a unique safari-style roof. There's an additional 10 cubic feet of max cargo volume and nine cubic feet of storage to work with in the Ford Bronco Sport, which also features the MOLLE strap system.
Capability
The Honda HR-V isn't relied upon for towing and the SUV only generates 158 horsepower and 138 pound-feet of torque through a 4-cylinder engine. The Ford Bronco Sport gives Lindale drivers access to turbocharged power through multiple EcoBoost® powertrains that produce between 181 and 250 horsepower while delivering between 190 and 277 pound-feet of torque. The Honda HR-V offers Real Time AWD™ and an Intelligent Control System™ to try and replicate some of the off-roading prowess of the Ford Bronco Sport through the SUV's standard 4x4 capability, HOSS setup, and G.O.A.T. Modes®. The Honda HR-V earns 32 highway miles per gallon, compared to 29 mpg in the Ford Bronco Sport.

Tech
Each SUV comes with Apple CarPlay®/Android Auto™ integration. A 9-inch Display Audio touchscreen comes with the top trim, but the Honda HR-V's standard display is seven inches, which is smaller than the Ford Bronco Sport's 8-inch touchscreen through SYNC® 3. There are eight speakers for the Honda HR-V but no premium sound system is available. The Ford Bronco Sport lets Lindale adventurers enjoy surround sound through a Bang & Olufsen® setup with 10 speakers. There's more tech for the trail in the Ford Bronco Sport, which provides a 180-degree rear-view camera and GPS navigation, features not seen on Honda's smallest SUV. Honda Sensing® and Ford Co-Pilot360™ mirror one another for driver-assist technologies.
